First i considered that Bauer would publish my magazine. It’s a very big company and it works with magazines like Kerrang. Bauer is Europe’s largest privately owned publishing company, and would be a very good option for my magazine. We would instantly get a good reputation and will make a lot of sales. The magazines popularity will grow very quickly. However, as Bauer is such a big company the owner of the magazine could end up losing a lot of the rights to the magazine. If we were to be signed by a smaller publisher the chances are we will make a lot less money, and we might not get exposed very well. On the other hand we will still keep most of the rights to the magazine and will stay very independent. We would also end up getting websites, radio stations and more so we need to have a publisher who is very experienced and knows what the right steps would be. I then realised that as kerrang is already under Bauer, they would probably not end up wanting to take us on. My magazine is already very similar to kerrang so they would not want two of the same styled magazine. So i would like to go with a publishing company like IPC. They would also be a very good financial help as they are a favourite in the market. The would also put us in competiton with kerrang allowing us to make more money.
